It is certainly true that I often feel like the luckiest person to be alive. I love my life both personally and professionally. Even on the days when it is raining outside or inside, I can still discover value and fulfillment in my experiences, learn something about myself and continue to turn my aspirations and dreams into reality.
" You are so lucky, you do whatever you want to do and have such a great life" said Erin, who was speaking to me after completing one of my courses Build Your Self-Confidence Through Assertive Communication Skills.
"I wish I had your life..." she continued.
As a life long adventurer and learner myself, I can guarantee that once you decide on the change you want to make in your life, research and learning how to make it happen then commit to action your life changes organically and moves your life in the direction you really want it to go. You feel fabulous and step into your own empowerment, excitement and delight.
Erin and I discussed what it was about her current life situation that she was not happy with and in a few minutes she had clarified what she really wanted to focus on, a major hurdle that was in the way and somerealistic options for her to consider. She said goodnight, feeling uplifted and energised. She told me she felt 'lucky' to have met me.
Erin called me 3 days later to tell me that she is now wel on the way to working part-time whilst establishing her own small business. This will give her more time to be home with her toddler and enjoy increased relaxation time with her partner - just what she wants! "I feel so lucky" she said, having confirmed the dates for her personalised coaching program over the next 6 weeks.
What is luck? Well, it can mean many different things to each one of us. This quote rings a bell with me. Statesman and philosopher, Seneca the Young in Roman times said:
“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
More recently Oprah Winfrey following in his footsteps:
"Luck is preparation meeting opportunity. It doesn't matter who you are,
where you come from. The ability to triumph begins with you. Always."
Here is another 'lucky' opportunity and one I am taking!
